The gem3D visualization window
Once the run button is pressed in the main window, the underlying
gem3D algorithm is started to compute a layout according to the
current parameter settings. Afterwards, the layout is visualized in a
separate window. This window offers several possibilities interaction using
the mouse.
- left mouse button
- popup menu to select a vertex to rotate in front. The menu might be
cascaded depending on the number of vertices in the graph. Vertices
are grouped into a cascade of size 10. In addition, the last entry of the
top-level menu called Manual Input allows the manual
entry of a vertex name, a feature that is especially useful if there
are many vertices.
- middle mouse button
- the view follows the mouse drag according to the current mode (rotation, translation,
zoom).
- right mouse button
- set navigation mode (rotation, translation, zoom) for the virtual
camera. In addition, the following menu entries are available:
- reset
- resets the camera to the original position.
- quit
- deletes the window
- presentation
- allows to change the presentation parameters (fog/draft/orthogonal) without
recomputing the layout.
